Message This weekend was both a bust and a blast. Well I was going up to the northeast dyno day kinda late but i figured i'd get there in time to see some Z's and grab a hotdog at the cookout. On my way I see a silver 350Z cruising along in the middle lane. Despite my past experience with them being rude or completely ignorant about the Z heritage, I decided that me my girl and my lil bro who was crammed in the back seat should wave at this fellow Zer. We pull up next to him and give him a wave and he turns and looks at us with a confused stare and gimpy half wave. So i realized he probrably had no clue what i was driving so i pull ahead of him only semi-disgusted by the lack of Z luv(after all he at least acknowledged us). After i get ahead of him he must have seen the 300ZX markings and the infamous Infamous Fairlady Z badge that i was sporting. Suddenly he pulls up beside me face ablaze with excitement and waving enthusiastically. I replied by punching it, there's nothing like flying down the highway with the tops off music blasting and nothing but open road ahead of you. He comes up behind me and starts to pull but not nearly as bad as i thought he would. I look over and his wife looks like she's not to thrilled about the speed, but he doesn't seem to care. We did a few more little runs like that for about ten miles starting around the UCONN exit on 84. That first few times were really good but the last run was the best. We drive by a Corvette slow down and give an invite to join in on the fun but he blows us off but who cares. We come up over the hill side by side i put three fingers in the air 3...2...1.. we take off like bullets. Much to my surprise i'm pulling ahead of him at almost 130 we are really nailing it then he pulls ahead by a few carlengths. That last race lasted almost ten miles and led me into MA and it was truly the highlight of my day and of my short Z owner life. That race must have scared the living shit out of his wife b/c after that he dropped back like twenty car lenths while i was only going 75 and didn't catch back up to me until i was getting off @ exit 10A. I lost but the 2+2 is still a winner in my book. I haven't really raced much and this was a nice one. I eventually got to the dyno shop and all I see is Stangs. O well maybe next time. Still enjoyed the ride time for an oil change and some TLC for the good old Z.
